  Introduction
Tianjin Rockcheck Steel Company is the largest private enterprises, which ranks the 159th in top 500 Chinese enterprises , with annual sales value of 28.9 billion. To resolve the long-troubled water shortages and poor water quality issues, Rockcheck began to construct sewage treatment and reuse projects from October 2007.

 Scope Of  Work
MOTIMO was responsible for the (CMF + RO) system design, equipment manufacturing , installation and commissioning works construction of the project.

 General Information
Designed scale: UF system 72,000m3/d, RO system 50,000m3/d, which is currently China's largest double-membrane wastewater treatment and reuse project.

Membrane Info
CMF system uses MOTIMO UOF4 membrane module, which is composed of 33 skids MT-CMF-50 (30 use 3 standby), each skid has 50 membrane modules, totally 1650 outside-in hollow fiber membrane modules, which are all made of PVDF and the pore size is 0.03μm, each runs independently producing constant flow of water. The system’s maximum treatment capacity is 72,000 m3/d.
The project uses UOF-4 PVDF membrane module produced by MOTIMO, the effective membrane area is 40m2, the average flux of membrane system is 53LMH (peak instantaneous flux is 65LMH), and the product water’s quality is in line with the requirements of the reverse osmosis water.
 

 Process
raw water’s quality: integrated river discharge wastewater + Gegu town domestic wastewater + Rockcheck Steel Company steel wastewater.
Produced water’s quality : achieve the 1st RO desalination water standard
Produced water’s application: Tianjin Rockcheck Steel Company steel production water
The system can effectively remove impurities, reduce turbidity, suspended solids and colloidal materials, and reduce pollution index (SDI), to maximizedly guarantee the safe operation of reverse osmosis systems, The produced water of CMF system can reach the following targets:
Produced water’s turbidity: ≤ 0.2NTU
SDI:≤ 3
SS: ≤ 1 mg/L

 Conclusion
In the ecological view of the current rapid economic development, when facing bottleneck problem with the water shortage in the steel industry, Tianjin Rockcheck Steel Company’s water recycling projects optimize and integrate with the advanced wastewater treatment, water preparation, process water, and balancing water technologies such as multi-core set of technological utilization of water resources from the urban sewage, sewage and wastewater from the river by the independent innovation and R & D, as well as the advanced treatment to the multi-source and non-conventional source of water resulted from the iron and steel production to reclaim and reuse for the enterprises to open up a new means of water supply, saving the new water at the same time ,reach a total reduction of pollutants and protect the surrounding environment.
